FALANIKO SOLOMONA – 2017 WORLD FIRE KNIFE COMPETITION

Annually, the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii holds the World Fire-knife Competition. Fire-knife warriors show their modern skills through a performance involving twirling machetes with an exposed hook and fire. They showcase combined dance movements and acrobatic exhibition.

I dedicate this video to my brother-in-law, Falaniko Solomona, gracing the 2017 World Fire Knife Competition with his talent. Together with a line up of promising competitors, he got in the World Fire Knife Preliminaries yesterday, May 11, 2017. On May 12, the competition will run starting with Junior Division (6-11 years old), Intermediate Division (12-17 years old) and finally, the day would come to a close after choosing 3 finalists from the top 6. The finals for the world fire-knife competition will begin on May 13, at 7:30 in the evening.

Sole, fa’amalosi!

About

I have a deep regard for your time. It's when I write and cook that time becomes non-existent. I love learning and while you think I am the kind of lady who has a lot of things to say, just take it that I was sharing what I had learned with full impact over a cup of Joe.
