VIRTUAL CANTEEN FOR FILIPINO CUISINE

Filipino Cuisine had always been a subgroup for Asian Food Communities. Gogobaon paves the way this 2019 for it to reach a level where it would be globally experienced and understood. Building the Virtual Canteen for Filipino Cuisine, Gogobaon unleashes Philippines’ most sought after home-cooked delicacies. With the help of a unique delivery system and a community of chefs, meals are aimed to be delivered right at your doorstep.

Our vision took us a lot of miles away from a simple idea of helping a friend from consuming too much instant meals to opening up a business. Where acting as grown-ups had never been so strong in keeping up with the challenges it came with. Every business venture twins together with calculated risks. But don’t let it stop you from making your dreams a reality.

In pursuing entrepreneurship, I learned that the most important thing is to take the first step. This involves the decision-making behind how you believe your idea. Because if you don’t believe it entirely from the beginning, don’t waste your time and effort in starting it. A ‘not-so-sure-about-this-idea’ state is as good as a complete waste of ALL your resources.

Don’t count being unsure on ‘how to do it’ a reason to quit though. Because all that you have to do is begin. From there, you would learn. But to sustain the drive, belief should always be there to back up your biggest WHY.

It all started with our dedication to share what we have learned in a simple financial education session Edward Lee had done at the Philippine Consulate General Office here in Hong Kong. Edward Lee is the Chief Executive Officer and the Chairman of CWC Group of Companies which includes CWC Development Inc., Barrington Carpets, Inc., Citimex Inc. and CWC International Inc.

Mr. Lee has been the Chairman of COL Financial Group, Inc. (formerly CitisecOnline.com Inc), based in the Philippines. That time that they went to Hong Kong, they were basically encouraging HK Filipino Overseas Workers to invest their hard-earned money wisely by having basic knowledge in doing so. That specific conference focused mainly on handling stocks and mutual funds.

Fast forward, it encouraged us to create a source of passive income for ourselves. The same group of people were driven to build a business behind the words and education we preach. So here we are now, on the verge of giving everybody a chance on having a good decent home-cooked meal. Very simple yet helpful solution here in Hong Kong, whose civilians are composed mostly of both local and overseas workers.

THE INSPIRATION

The name GOGOBAON was inspired by a delivery company called GOGOVAN in Hong Kong. But instead of delivering packages from one place to another, GOGOBAON, through a prepaid and pre-order delivery system, will satisfy your cravings for Filipino food. It aims to bring freshly prepared home-cooked meals right at your doorstep, office table or a particular event with the distinct Filipino flavor we are very proud of. It is a platform that can be accessed online (Facebook and Instagram). We see its potential as a virtual canteen for Filipino cuisine where viands are available for you to check out and see for yourself through a quick video.

ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCE

For those who are interested on how to start with a business, my 2-cent goes as far as this.

There’s always a first-time. And you’ll never know the due process until you start moving to your goal. In doing so, it’s always not an easy task but the journey is worthwhile. Personally, it’s important to choose the right people instead of the best people in starting up your business. Be with the people who have the same aspiration as you.

Psalm 127:1

Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the Lord protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.”

I am blessed to have partners that see the importance of solving the real problem. That because of too much work, satisfaction that comes from their meal break comes so limited. And this hugely contributes to burn out from work, not functioning efficiently and not being nurtured properly. Together we would love to make a difference to the hard-working citizens of Hong Kong.

After a year of preparation, here we are, ready to strike through 2019!!!! Here’s a documentary in (Tagalog though) of our journey whilst the decision of making it happen. It’s in Tagalog so it’d be best to watch it with a Filipino local to understand it.

Don’t be afraid to pursue your dreams! More to come and hope to hear from you if you would like to try some of our specialties! We are open for catering in your events or in your office! Throw us a message in Facebook and Instagram if you’re interested (@gogobaon).

About

I have a deep regard for your time. It's when I write and cook that time becomes non-existent. I love learning and while you think I am the kind of lady who has a lot of things to say, just take it that I was sharing what I had learned with full impact over a cup of Joe.
